"What is it you want?" he asked, lifting is head to look down at her.

She reached for his lips again, but he held her, tracing her cheek and lips with a gently enticing thumb. "Where did a sweet little thing like you learn to kiss like that?"

Amber didn't know how to answer. She had never kissed anyone like that. Her body reacted naturally. Melting at his touch. Sizzle! Now she knew what her mother meant, but she didn't want to think about that--not now.

Sam's lips teased hers. Did he know how disoriented she was? Something was happening--something she could not define. She wanted to be closer to him, as close as possible, and yet she knew she couldn't. She put her hands on his shoulders, pushing him away slightly.

"I should go sleep over there..."

His response was to drop a warm, wet kiss on her neck, just below her ear. Amber shuddered in his arms.

"It'll be okay, little Amber. I'm not taking this any place you don't want to go."

"I'm not going to make love with you..." she said breathlessly. "I don't really know you, and I won't be another conquest..."

The words did not sound convincing, or maybe she was trying to convince herself.
