Beelzebub leaned back, stretched and yawned--a deep yawn that rumbled in the back of his throat. He reached up to scratch behind one ear. He always thought better after a good scratch. The genetic marking program had been going quite well--up until now. Now the stupid woman was pregnant. Babies were such unpredictable creatures. He flopped back onto the carpet and blinked his eyes at the fire. He loved flames and heat. He might look like he was doing nothing, but he did some of his best work when his brain was nicely warm.
