Shanna grinned as the caravan mistress came out of her tent, broad, graying, with a high-colored face lined and weathered by years on the road. Bercy had been foretelling disaster from the moment they moved out of Otey. It was no wonder if one of her predictions had finally been fulfilled. Especially this one--Shanna had been keeping a wary eye on the archpriest and his pet witchfinder too.
"The gods have spoken--" the archpriest's fruity tones rolled over the murmur of the crowd. "We must seek out the guilty one!"
